3 Advertising hires Thea Kinyon as copywriter, adds new clients
Albuquerque ad agency/design firm 3 Advertising has hired Thea Kinyon, a graduate of the Academy of Art University, as a copywriter. Thea was previously with Mortar in San Francisco.
3 has also added new clients, including the New Mexico Mortgage Finance Authority and San Felipe Casino Hollywood, as well as project work for the World Series of Team Roping, the Hearing Group of New Mexico and CSI Aviation.
Logos designed by 3 Advertising to be featured in LogoLounge International Design Annual
LogoLounge, the world's largest online database of logos, has selected three logos from Albuquerque ad agency/design firm 3 Advertising for its annual collection of best designs. More than 33,000 logos were entered for consideration.
This year's panel of judges included Andreas Karl of Karl Design, Von Glitschka of Glitschka Studios, Michelle Sonderegger of Design Ranch, Sarah Moffat of Turner Duckworth, Jamie Koval of VSA Partners, Vince Frost of Frost Design, Bronwen Rautenbach of The Brand Union and Alex de Janosi of Lippincott.
Work from 3 selected for publication includes Echelon, MERP and CreditStar Software. The book, LogoLounge 5, will be available worldwide in June 2009.
3 Advertising earns national and international recognition from Print Magazine and Identity Magazine
Albuquerque ad agency/design firm 3 will have work featured in the 2008 Print Magazine Regional Design Annual. The magazine’s advertising and design competition receives more than 20,000 entries each year for consideration. The publication highlights the best work from each region of the United States. The annual will appear on newsstands later this year.
In addition, 3 earned more international recognition from Russia's Identity Magazine. The publication will feature several pieces from 3 in its International Best of the Best 2008 publication.
3 Advertising announces new clients, increased desire for caffeine
Albuquerque ad agency 3 is starting branding work for several new regional and national clients, including Mercy Regional Medical Center in Colorado, Fresh Start Legal in the Midwest, as well as the National Atomic Museum, Omni Sleep Medicine Centers and law firm Butt Thornton & Baehr of New Mexico.
In addition, the agency is working on an identity project for New York and London-based post production company Smoke & Mirrors, known for their work on the Harry Potter and James Bond movie series.
New work is expected to debut later this summer.
3 Advertising wins international awards for identity and collateral work
Albuquerque ad agency/design firm 3 Advertising has won recognition from Rockport Books' "Really Good Logos Explained," a collection of 500 of the world's exceptional, newly created logos.
The firm also is featured in the publisher's "Design for Special Events" book, a collection of the best invitations and special event materials from around the world.
3 Advertising wins five National Healthcare Awards
Albuquerque ad agency/design firm 3 Advertising won gold, silver and merit awards today from the national Healthcare Advertising Awards. The firm won a gold award for best single print ad and silver for best print campaign for Cosmetic Dentistry of New Mexico. Silver awards were given for t-shirts created for the Center for Prenatal Development as well as a logo for MERP (Medical Error Reduction Program). A merit award was given for a direct mail piece created for PhDx.
The Healthcare Advertising Awards is the oldest, largest and most widely respected healthcare advertising awards competition. The awards are sponsored by Healthcare Marketing Report, the leading publication covering all aspects of healthcare marketing, advertising and strategic business development in the U.S.
The competition received a record 4,400 entries, making the awards the largest healthcare advertising awards competition in the world, according to the publication. Entering frims included Albuquerque ad agencies Esparza Advertising and Rick Johnson & Company, as well as national firms such as Devito/Verdi, Della Femina, Northlich, Publicis and R&R Partners.
3 Advertising featured in the Best of Business Card Design
Albuquerque ad agency/design firm 3 is featured in the new "Best of Business Card Design" edited by Austin design firm Sibley/Peteet. The Rockport-published book features the most current and innovative business card designs from around the world.
Five designs created by 3 were picked for inclusion in the publication, which also features such firms as Gee + Chung of San Francisco, Sagmeister Inc. of New York and Willoughby Design Group of Kansas City.
The publication is available online and at bookstores worldwide.

Two-year-old New Mexico ad agency/design firm 3 Advertising won the second-highest amount of ADDYs for the second year in a row at the 2007/2008 NMAF ADDYs, including a prestigious Judge’s Choice award for Nob Hill Bar & Grill.
3 won gold and silver ADDYs for work entered in print, broadcast, design, collateral, direct marketing and interactive categories. The agency also won the highest percentage of awards in relation to the amount of work entered. This year's ADDYs had more than 500 entries from nearly three dozen New Mexico advertising agencies and design firms, an all-time high for the event.
The 2007/2008 NMAF ADDYs were judged by creative directors from some of the country’s most influential ad agencies, including Crispin Porter + Bogusky and TDA Advertising, both of Boulder, Colorado; Zig Advertising of Chicago and Gardner Design of Wichita, Kansas.
Agencies participating at this year's NMAF ADDYs included McKee Wallwork Cleveland, Esparza Advertising, Rick Johnson & Company, Rome & Gold Creative, Squires & Company, SUM Agency, Thielen Designs, Vaughn Wedeen, Mudhouse Advertising, DW Turner and TKO.
3 Advertising wins two Marketer of the Year Awards from New Mexico American Marketing Association
Albuquerque agency/design firm 3 Advertising won two of the six Marketer of the Year awards presented at the 2008 New Mexico American Marketing Association "MOY" event. The awards recognize overall campaign effectiveness and marketing results. This year’s award show had the highest number of entries in the event’s history.
One of the two MOY awards won by the agency was for most effective radio campaign for OSO Technologies, an ISP and data services company based in Albuquerque.
The second MOY award was for the interactive category. The winning entry was for the Old Guys Rule website and accompanying interactive campaign materials. Old Guys Rule is an e-commerce retailer based in Ventura, California.
In addition, 3 Advertising won an Award of Merit in the direct mail category for a campaign created for Sandia Laboratory Federal Credit Union.
Participating agencies at this year's NMAMA awards included McKee Wallwork Cleveland, Esparza Advertising and Griffin & Associates as well as internal client marketing teams from Advent Solar and TriCore Reference Laboratories.
Albuquerque ad agency/design firm 3 hires Amy Carrara, moves to new offices, adds new clients
3 has hired Amy Carrara as a production artist. Carrara has 13 years of experience and is a graduate of the University of New Mexico.
In mid-January, the firm moved to a larger office space at 1550 Mercantile, Second Floor, above the REI building in Albuquerque.
3 has also added new clients, including Echelon, a private jet membership service; Get A Grip, a resurfacing company; Nob Hill Bar & Grill, and Cosmetic Dentistry of New Mexico.
