3 Hires Media Director Sue K Lewis
Albuquerque ad agency/design firm 3 has hired media director Sue K Lewis to run the agency's media planning department. Sue will be responsible for all media strategy, planning and buying needs for the agency’s growing list of clients.
Sue has 20 years of media experience, including previous roles as associate media director for Nike while at Wieden + Kennedy in Portland, media director for Walt Disney Attractions in Orlando, senior vice president at Yesawich, Pepperdine & Brown, and most recently as media director for Young & Laramore/EchoPoint Media in Indianapolis.
In addition, Sue has media planning and buying experience in all mediums, including broadcast, print, outdoor and new media. She has worked in a variety of business categories, including apparel, quick service restaurants, tourism, hospitality, healthcare, tobacco prevention and control, social cause issues and many other sectors.
3 earns more international award recognition for creative work
Albuquerque ad agency/design firm 3 has been selected as one of 130 firms worldwide for inclusion in the Great Design Show. The competition selected winners from more than 8,000 entries submitted worldwide. Other winning agencies and companies include Carmichael Lynch, VSA Partners, Martin Williams and Virgin Records.
3 was also selected as an award-winning finalist for Debut Publications “Branded” annual, featuring 130 of the best logos from around the world. The publication is based in the United Kingdom. The annual will be available worldwide later this year.
3 Featured in New Mexico Business Weekly

3 ends year with new client wins, parking lot full of snow
Albuquerque advertising/design firm 3 is working on branding assignments for its newest clients, including Vaughan Company Realtors, BRYCON Construction, the New Mexico Department of Health and Osuna Nursery, as well as ongoing efforts for existing clients. New campaigns will debut in late 2006 and early 2007.
In other news, winter debuted using a mixed media approach of snow, wind and ice.
Maclay listed in New Mexico Business Weekly's 40 Under Forty
Sam Maclay, creative director and partner of Albuquerque advertising agency 3, was included in New Mexico Business Weekly's 40 under Forty 2006 issue. The yearly special highlights 40 New Mexico professionals under the age of forty. Although in advertising years, Sam is technically 97 years old.
Rockport selects work from 3 for its Logo Design Annual
One of the best known publications for design professionals, Rockport, has chosen work from Albuquerque advertising agency 3 for its upcoming logo design annual. The book will be published and distributed worldwide in the spring of 2007.
Coupe Magazine selects work from 3 for its International Design Annual
Coupe Magazine, one of Canada's celebrated design and advertising publications, has selected two pieces from Albuquerque ad agency/design firm 3 for its upcoming 2006 annual. The publication features the best work from North America and France. The design annual will be on newsstands in December of 2006.
Print Magazine Selects Five Pieces from 3 for its Regional Design Annual
Print Magazine, one of the premier worldwide publications celebrating creativity in advertising and design, has selected five pieces from Albuquerque ad agency/design firm 3 for inclusion in its yearly annual. The magazine selected work the agency created for Measure Twice, a general contractor based in Montana; a wedding invitation for one of the firm’s partners, a t-shirt design and logo for Sackwear.com and its own "3" logo.
The magazine’s advertising and design competition receives more than 20,000 entries each year for consideration. The publication highlights the best work from each region of the United States. The annual will appear on newsstands in the fall of 2006.
3 hires Mike Penn as New Senior Art Director
3 has added senior art director Mike Penn to the agency's creative department, as the firm continues to grow to serve its expanding list of clients.
Mike has 20 years of brand-building experience in tourism, financial services, public utility and other business categories. He has earned numerous international and national awards for his work, including a One Show Pencil and recognition from Communication Arts and Archive.
3 Receives One Show Merit Award, Graphis Design Award
The One Show and the Graphis Design Annual, two of the most respected international creative award publications, gave awards this week to Albuquerque advertising/design firm 3. Winners were selected from thousands of entries from more than 55 countries.
The two award shows are judged by top creative leaders from around the world. Acceptance into either publication is considered a top career achievement in advertising and design circles.
3's award-winning design for both shows was for the agency's corporate identity package, which humorously indicates “3 things to know” about each employee and the agency itself.
